Layout Update

Comments Off | Miscellanious, News, Website

Been a while since I did anything about my layout and since updaing my layout usually boosts my creative spirit I decided to pimp my old layout since I did really like it as it was.

So, at this point the only new thing is the layout, but I’m planning on re-doing the plugin pages to give more information on them and more proper support.

DCMS Development Update

Comments Off | Divia CMS, News, Website

DevelopmentWell I haven’t had much time to work on the CMS lately, but today I found some time to do some updates, I’ve started working on plugin support and have also improved the Log Viewer, as well as the Profile viewing page.

In the coming week I’ll have to add Plugin support to the entire CMS, meaning that I’ll have to add hooks throughout the entire coding scheme for the plugins to use, the same goes for logging messages.

One thing I’ve discovered that I didn’t think of though, is that the log viewer generates a huge amount of SQL queries if you choose to log everything, because of this I have added more logging levels so that you can choose to only log the most important actions.

If you want to try Divia-CMS read the following!

dcms2.jpgI am seriously considering releasing an early beta version of the CMS so that people can start testing the features and developers can get used to the plugin system (it’s quite simple really), but I have even more serious doubts about it as apart from a few people asking me to send them the CMS (no!) I haven’t had much feedback on it.

If you are interested in the CMS and are waiting to give it a try, let me know! The more people are interested, the more tempted I’ll be to release a beta.

Divia CMS: Log Viewer and Form Manager

Comments Off | Divia CMS, News, Resources

Little update on the development of Divia-CMS, I’ve just finnished two quite unique features, that’s to say, I’m sure there are other systems out there that feature similar features, but I doubt they’re anything like these.

feature_logger.JPGThe first feature is the Log Viewer, I’ve been planning this for ages.. what this basically does is allow you to track website the website logs in realtime, and you can easily filter the results by modifying the MySQL query, keep in mind though, that the CMS is meant for developers, I will increase the friendly-ness of the log viewer, but someone who doesnt know much about PHP/MySQL probably doesn’t wanna see the log viewer anyway.

feature_form.jpgThe other feature is at the moment only able to create mail forms, but it is planned to make any type of form, currently you can easily create a mail form processor, meaning that you define all fields, what’s required and what fields need to be validated, and then make a HTML form with the same form fields that you’ve defined in the Form Manager, you’ll be able to generate the HTML forms from the CMS or create them manually, all the form manager does is basically manage the forms and process them when someone submits them.

You can see a real live demo of the frontend on the Divia-CMS site, here.

That’s it for now, I’ll be working further on both features for sure, I’ve got big plans!

PageActivity v1.5 Released

pa15p.jpgWell I had the plugin ready about 2 weeks ago, but I had to take my time and prepare it for release, tonight I took the time.

This version has the following changes;

  • Sorted visitors into groups: Members, Commentators, Guests and Bots
  • Added onclick event to visitor names, upon click a hoverbox will appear with all the users info in it and a button to easily copy it
  • Added an option to the configuration page to modify the bot list
  • Added a link to the overview page to add a visitor agent to the botlist
  • Modified some things here and there, only minor.
  • Fixed MySQL error upon installation for some users
  • Fixed various other bugs

To update your current version just replace the file in your plugins folder.
If you experience any problems feel free to ask for support on the support page.

If you need the old version for whatever reason, get it here.

Update on Divia CMS Development..

Comments Off | Divia CMS, News

diviacms.JPGBeen a while since I blogged, didn’t really have a reason to tbh.. but I thought I’d post a new screenshot for those who are actually checking for updates :)

I’ve had a long struggle with the CMS in converting all the templates to purely DIV and no tables AT ALL, and I gotta say I’m pleased with the result ;)

Anyway, here’s a screenshot of the Page Creation process, I’ve done quite some “improvements’ (imo) on the default theme and for all pages, including the one in the screenshot, the UI has been rethought a bit.

Divia CMS Development

Comments Off | Divia CMS, News

dcms.pngDivia CMS is coming along nicely, though a full release is still far far away.

I am currently in the process of setting up a developer forum so that I can get a development team started.
The main idea behind this is that I will have a lot more time focusing on specific functionality, as at this point I am very distracted by everything that has to happen, working on the CMS with multiple developers will greatly increase the creative capabilities.

For those who are interested, I am looking for the following persons to join the development team:

  • PHP Developers (x2)
  • HTML/Javascript Developer
  • Designer (layout & icons)

The quantity of developers will increase with time, but I want to start out with a small group as up till now I’ve always worked on the CMS alone, so it’s gonna bring in quite some adjustments.

On a sidenote (from the development process) I have registered divia-cms.com so there is now an appropriate domain for the project. And I have made some minor adjustments to the CMS layout.

New Layout

Comments Off | News, Website

icon_custom_website.pngIf you are a frequent visitor (or for that matter a recent visitor) you might have already noticed, I’ve put up a new layout :)

Previously I’ve been using a layout from Styleshout, which was fine of course, but it’s less personal as there are more people out there using your style (though I haven’t found any).

Big thanks to the people of Designerstalk for helping me shape this layout :)

Just Married!

One Comment | Life, News, People, Personal

us.jpgWell I don’t plan to be very personal with my blog, because, well.. my blog used to be like that and I was bored with it, since that blogging scene isn’t my target audience.

But getting married is such a big deal, I think it’s worth an anouncement :)

As of Friday, the 29th of june, 2007.. I am a married man :)

My wife (still feels weird to say that) has made a nice slideshow of pictures for those of you who are interested and are either related to me or know me personally.. so if you want to see it, drop me a mail.

Notifyme & Useronline Bug Fixes

bug.jpgI released updates for the Notifyme and Useronline plugin, they’re available at the download page.

In Notifyme I fixed the following bugs/issues:

  • Bugfix: Recipients can no longer see all of the other recipients in the e-mail.
  • Bugfix: Mails are only send once to every person.
  • Bugfix: the Blog-author variable should now be working in the template
  • Correction: Changed Configurate to Configure (yea I know..)

And for Useronline the following was fixed:

  • Bugfix: Useronline should now show up as a widget.
  • Bugfix: The MySQL error “Duplicate entry ‘32767′ for key 1” has been fixed and should no longer appear (unless you are celebrating your 100.000.000.000th visitor :p)

That’s it for now, thanks to anyone that reported these bugs :)

Comments Off | Divia CMS, News

diviacms-25june.pngJust a small update to say I’m still working on the CMS (and plan to keep doing so for a long time)

Added to this blog is a single screenshot that shows the permission system and a ‘new’ theme to show how easy it is to theme the admin panel.

More coming soon..
